Last updated: 11-28-2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Crash Course SEO (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit crashcourseseo.com and when you use our products and tools.

By using our website or our tools, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions, you can reach us at:
[email protected]

1. Who we are

Crash Course SEO provides SEO training and tools, including a WordPress plugin and related tools like DeepScan and Alt Tag Checker.

If you purchase through Gumroad, Gumroad will also act as an independent controller of your data for payment and account purposes.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways:

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Contact & support:
When you email us, use a contact form, or request support, we may collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

  • Purchases:
When you buy a plan via Gumroad, Gumroad shares necessary information with us, such as your name, email, product purchased, and subscription status.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details; these are handled by Gumroad.

  • Account / license info:
If we provide license keys or account access, we may store your email, license key, and basic usage info (e.g., active/inactive, site domain where a license is activated).

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use our website, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (country/region)

  • Browser type and version

  • Device type and operating system

  • Pages visited, time on site, and click activity

  • Referring URL (how you arrived on our site)

This information is generally collected through analytics tools and server logs to help us understand site performance and improve our content.

2.3 Information processed by our tools

Some of our tools (such as DeepScan and Alt Tag Checker) allow you to paste or enter a URL for analysis.

When you use these tools:

  • We receive the URL you submit.

  • Our servers may fetch the HTML content of that page in order to analyze titles, meta tags, headings, links, images, and other on‑page data.

  • For AI‑powered features, we may send portions of that page’s content and analysis metrics to a third‑party AI provider (such as OpenAI) to generate a human‑readable report or suggestions.

We do not use the contents of your pages to build public datasets or train our own models. Third‑party providers may process data according to their own privacy policies.

If you are running the plugin on your own site using your own API keys, some processing happens directly on your server and/or between your site and the AI provider, under your own configuration.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide you with products, features, and services you request
